Textiles Recovery
We have diverted over 45,000 lbs of textile waste so far!
Approximately 85% of post-consumer textiles are thrown away. In California, that’s about 1.2 million tons of textile waste each year. Most clothes are made of plastic-based materials that take decades (even centuries) to break down in landfills. MarBorg Industries is proud to offer FREE textiles drop off programs in partnership with Homeboy Threads, City of Santa Barbara, City of Goleta, and County of Santa Barbara to keep textiles in circularity through reuse and recycling.
Free Textiles Drop Off
Textiles can be dropped off for free at MarBorg’s Goleta and Santa Maria Recycling Centers.
Please refer to the guide below for what is and is not acceptable to drop off, and check out the flyers to learn more about our program. Unacceptable items will be sent back with the participant to dispose of elsewhere.
